St Joseph the Worker Ministers of Care are volunteers who offer the Holy Eucharist to all Catholic residents at Lexington Home and Roman Catholics at the Greek American Home after Sunday mass.
Our mission is to bring the Body and Blood of Christ and pray with those who are unable to attend mass due to age or illness. Many of the residents will never be able to leave the bed or go beyond the doors of the home.
The ministers distribute rosaries, religious books and religious articles to the residents donated by the church parishioners. The donation box may be found on the church open area table.
The ministers maintain a religious bookshelf in the church open area for church members to enrich their faith and for distribution to members in the nursing homes.
We ask your prayers for the residents of the home and for the ministers.
We are looking for bibles and used lap tops in working condition to show religious DVD’s.
Ministers of Care attend a training program on the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and theology of suffering and are mandated by the Office of Divine Worship, Archdiocese of Chicago.
If you have a calling to be a Minister of Care, please contact Fr. Messan Tettekpoe at the Parish Office.
