Our new electronic sign is now installed. After almost a year of gathering information and the approval of the sign, it was finally installed on Thursday, May 7th.
Now for some background on why we decided to go with the electronic sign versus our letter sign. In the Winter of 2018-19, there was a lot of snow and ice. The letters on the sign were frozen and the sign was not changed unil the spring. A parishioner took on the responsibility of gathering information on electronic signs. After much research it was decided to go with a company in the Village of Wheeling. The decision was made to go local because of the availability of a company that was close to help with issues that may arise. Also, a team looked at other signs that the company installed and were happy with the work the company did. After signing the contract in the Fall things did not go smoothly. The electronic parts came from China and that was the beginning of the Virus in that country. Next the Virus came to the United States and that slowed the installation of the sign. Finally, on May 7th (the month of Mary) the sign was installed. The electronic sign will enable new messages to be put up as events occur in the Parish. It was a way to let the Parishioners know what is happening at the Parish.
